Our 4 days Fes to Marrakech Itinerary:
Itinerary Program :
We will depart from Fes in the morning and travel south through the beautiful Middle Atlas Mountains. Our first stop will be Ifrane, often referred to as the “Switzerland of Morocco” because of its alpine-style architecture and spotless streets. We will then continue to the Cedar Forest of Azrou, where you will have the opportunity to see the famous Barbary macaques in their natural habitat. After lunch in Midelt, we will continue through the breathtaking Ziz Valley, renowned for its vast palm groves and spectacular panoramic viewpoints.
Upon arriving in Merzouga in the late afternoon, you will enjoy a camel trek across the golden Erg Chebbi dunes to your desert camp, where you will witness a stunning sunset over the Sahara. The evening includes a delicious traditional Moroccan dinner, Berber music around the campfire, and an unforgettable night beneath a sky full of stars.
On the second day of our 4 day tour from Fes, after watching a beautiful sunrise over the dunes and enjoying breakfast, we will spend the day exploring the hidden treasures of the Merzouga Desert. We will visit local nomadic families to learn about their traditional way of life, explore the Mifis mines, and stop in the village of Khamlia, where you will enjoy the unique rhythms of traditional Gnawa music. We will also drive across the desert landscapes in a 4×4 vehicle and leave time for optional activities such as sandboarding or quad biking. In the late afternoon, we will return to your hotel or desert camp to enjoy a second night in the Sahara.
After breakfast, we will leave the desert and head to Rissani, a traditional town famous for its lively market, especially on market days. From there, we will continue to the spectacular Todra Gorge, where you will have time to walk between its towering canyon walls, which rise more than 300 meters high. After lunch, we will travel along the famous Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, passing traditional Berber villages and enjoying the breathtaking valley landscapes before arriving in the beautiful Dades Valley. Here, you can relax and spend a peaceful evening surrounded by dramatic rock formations and lush gardens before spending the night in a charming hotel or riad.
After breakfast, we will drive through the picturesque Rose Valley, famous for its rose-based products, before continuing to the lush Skoura Oasis, home to thousands of palm trees and ancient kasbahs. Later, we will arrive in Ouarzazate and visit the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Morocco’s most iconic landmarks, featured in numerous international films and television productions. After exploring the kasbah, we will cross the spectacular High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, enjoying breathtaking scenery and several panoramic stops along the way before arriving in Marrakech in the late afternoon, where your unforgettable journey comes to an end.

Frequently Asked Questions: 4 Days Tour from Fes
Yes, this tour is suitable for all ages. The camel ride is gentle and can be shortened for younger children or elderly travelers if needed. The desert camp offers a safe and magical experience that everyone will remember forever, from playing in the dunes to stargazing around the campfire. Please let us know your group’s needs in advance, and we will tailor the experience accordingly.
Merzouga is located approximately 480 kilometers (300 miles) from Fes, which takes about 7 to 8 hours of driving through the stunning Middle Atlas Mountains and the Ziz Valley. The journey is an adventure in itself, with breathtaking views, cedar forests, and traditional Berber villages along the way. We include comfortable, air-conditioned transportation and frequent stops to stretch, take photos, and enjoy the scenery.
The camel ride in the afternoon is about 1 hour to 1 hour and a half, and about 1 hour in the Morning.
Whether you take a standard or a luxury desert camp, private tents are guaranteed.
- Standard desert camp:
The standard camp is perfect for travelers seeking an authentic, back-to-basics desert adventure. It offers a rustic, budget-friendly experience.
The tents are comfortable and perfect for a nice sleep. The toilets and showers are shared with the whole camp.
- Luxury desert camp :
Luxury desert camps are definitely the best choice if you’re looking for a more exclusive and memorable stay in the desert.
Luxury camps are the best in offering premium comfort with spacious tents. Private bathrooms, different kinds of bed sizes ( king beds, double beds, twin beds, or single beds), and offering enhanced amenities like electricity, and Wi-Fi(though it may be limited due to the remote location).
Signal is available in Merzouga village and may be intermittent on the journey. In the desert camp, Wi-Fi is often available but can be limited due to the remote location, generally sufficient for messages and sharing photos, but not for streaming. We encourage you to embrace this opportunity to disconnect, enjoy the desert’s silence, and marvel at the star-filled sky without distractions.
From the essentials you don’t want to forget when you packing to Morocco:
- Comfortable clothing plus some layers for cold desert nights.
- Sturdy shoes for walking on sand and rocky terrain.
- Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat for sun protection.
- A camera or smartphone to bring home your wonderful Morocco memories.
Keep in Mind :
Morocco uses the double-pronged plugs common in Europe (type E – type C).
Both options are excellent:
- A private tour offers flexibility, personalized attention, and the freedom to explore at your own pace, ideal for couples, families, or those seeking an intimate experience.
- A group tour is more budget-friendly and a wonderful way to meet fellow travelers from around the world, sharing the adventure together. Choose what feels right for your travel style.
