Itinerary Program:

We will meet you upon your arrival at Casablanca airport and transfer you to your hotel in a comfortable private vehicle. We will start our family-friendly Morocco grand tour by visiting the iconic Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world, positioned dramatically right over the ocean waves. Afterwards, we will take a relaxing stroll along the vibrant Corniche boulevard and admire the ocean views before enjoying a welcome dinner. This easy first afternoon will give your family plenty of time to rest and adjust to the local atmosphere. We will spend our first evening at a luxury hotel near the seafront.

We will depart Casablanca after breakfast and drive north along the Atlantic coast toward Rabat, the official capital of Morocco. In Rabat, we will admire the historic Hassan Tower, the grand Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the whitewashed Kasbah of the Udayas. Following a relaxed lunch in the capital, we will continue our scenic drive up the coastline to the peaceful art-filled town of Asilah. We will spend the late afternoon wandering through its clean, mural-painted medina streets, overlooking the ocean. We will spend a tranquil night at a charming boutique riad.

We will take a leisurely morning drive inland through the lush green valley landscapes of the Rif Mountains toward the famous city of Chefchaouen. As we arrive in the afternoon, we will be greeted by the breathtaking blue-washed buildings and cobblestone alleyways that make this mountain town world-famous. We will stroll through Outa el-Hammam square, browse artisanal local handicraft shops, and take in the cool mountain air. Children and adults alike will fall in love with the safe, pedestrian-friendly streets of the blue medina. We will spend our evening relaxing at an authentic mountain riad.

We will dedicate this entire day to relaxing and discovering Chefchaouen at an unhurried, comfortable pace. We will take a short guided walk up to the Spanish Mosque viewpoint to capture panoramic photos of the entire blue valley. You will have plenty of free time to wander through the quiet lanes, enjoy fresh orange juice at local outdoor cafes, and shop for handmade wool blankets and leather goods. This rest day ensures everyone in the family stays refreshed before we journey deeper into Morocco’s history. We will return to our cozy riad for a quiet evening.

We will leave the Rif Mountains after breakfast and travel toward the Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage site featuring remarkably preserved mosaics. We will walk through the ancient stone pillars and archways with a knowledgeable local guide who will bring Roman history to life. Next, we will stop at the imperial city of Meknes to see the monumental Bab Mansour gate and the Royal Stables. In the late afternoon, we will arrive in Fes, the cultural capital of the kingdom. We will check into a restored luxury palace riad for our two-night stay.

We will step back in time today as an expert local guide leads us through the ancient pedestrian medina of Fes el-Bali. We will visit the ornate brass gates of the Royal Palace, the historic Jewish Quarter (Mellah), and the famous Chouara Tanneries. We will explore vibrant souks filled with spice merchants, ceramic artisans, and traditional bakeries that keep ancient Moroccan traditions alive. Every corner offers fascinating sights, sounds, and smells designed to enchant travelers of all ages. We will return to our riad in the late afternoon for dinner and rest.

We will head south into the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing through Ifrane, often called the Switzerland of Morocco for its alpine architecture. We will make a fun stop in the cedar forest of Azrou, where we will see native Barbary macaque monkeys in their natural habitat. After traveling through the palm-filled Ziz Valley, we will reach the golden sands of Merzouga in the late afternoon. We will mount gentle camels or take a 4×4 vehicle across the Erg Chebbi dunes right as the sun sets over the Sahara. We will spend a magical night in a luxury desert camp with fine dining and starry skies.

We will awaken early to watch a stunning Saharan sunrise over the silent dunes before enjoying a gourmet breakfast at camp. We will spend the day exploring the desert region in our private 4×4, visiting local nomadic families in their woven tents to learn about traditional life over tea. In the village of Khamlia, we will enjoy live Gnaoua music and dance performances by local musicians. Later, we will try sandboarding on the high dunes or simply relax by a pool overlooking the desert. We will spend our night in a high-end desert resort hotel.

We will say goodbye to the Sahara dunes and drive toward the impressive Todra Gorges, where towering limestone cliffs rise 300 meters above a cool mountain river. We will take an easy walk along the riverbed between the sheer rock canyon walls, perfect for stretching our legs and taking family photos. Afterwards, we will continue driving along the “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs” into the lush Dades Valley. We will admire dramatic rock formations known as the monkey fingers and lush palm groves along the valley floor. We will check into a boutique kasbah hotel for dinner and rest.

We will travel through the Rose Valley to Ouarzazate, the film production hub of Morocco, where we will see famous movie studios. Next, we will explore the UNESCO World Heritage ksar of Aït Benhaddou, an iconic mudbrick fortress featured in Gladiator and Game of Thrones. In the afternoon, we will cross the majestic High Atlas Mountains via the winding Tizi n’Tichka Pass, taking in breathtaking mountain views. We will descend into the vibrant red city of Marrakech by late evening. We will check into an exquisite luxury riad in the medina.

We will spend our day discovering the legendary sights of Marrakech alongside our private local guide. We will visit the historic Koutoubia Mosque, the colorful Bahia Palace, and the intricate tilework of the Saadian Tombs. In the afternoon, we will stroll through the calm shade of the Majorelle Garden and Yves Saint Laurent Museum. As night falls, we will witness the magic of Jemaa el-Fnaa Square, packed with snake charmers, storytellers, and lively food stalls. We will return to our peaceful riad for another restful night.

We will take a comfortable morning drive to the Atlantic coast to spend a day in the breezy seaside city of Essaouira. Along the way, we will stop to visit an argan oil cooperative run by local women to see how traditional argan oils are crafted. In Essaouira, we will walk along the historic sea ramparts, explore the relaxed art galleries, and watch fishing boats unload their daily catch at the port. We will enjoy fresh seafood by the ocean before driving back to Marrakech in the late afternoon. We will sleep at our Marrakech riad.

We will keep this day completely open so you can experience Marrakech at your own leisure and pace. You can choose to pamper yourself with a relaxing traditional Moroccan hammam and spa treatment or enjoy a family cooking class. You will also have ample time for stress-free shopping in the souks to pick up leather goods, spices, lanterns, and souvenirs. In the evening, we will gather for a farewell dinner at a rooftop restaurant overlooking the illuminated medina. We will spend our final night at our luxury riad.

We will enjoy a relaxed breakfast at our riad on the final morning of our Casablanca 14-day grand tour. Depending on your flight schedule, we will arrange a smooth private transfer back to Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca or directly to your Marrakech flight.
