Merzouga is located approximately 550 kilometers (340 miles) from Tangier, which translates to about 8 to 9 hours of driving through stunning landscapes, including the Rif Mountains and the Middle Atlas. The journey is an adventure in itself, with breathtaking views, cedar forests, and traditional Berber villages along the way.

We usually use modern 4×4 SUVs or minivans, depending on the group size and the terrain. For off-road parts of the trip, like in the desert, we use strong 4×4 vehicles to make sure everyone stays safe and comfortable.

The best time to take this tour is during spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) when the weather is mild and pleasant across all regions. Summer can be hot, especially in the desert, while winter brings cooler temperatures and fewer crowds.

The camel ride in the afternoon for sunset is about 1 to 1,5 hours, and about 1 hour in the Morning for sunrise. Depending on the route and the pace of the camels. This ride offers you plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful desert views and a perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the tranquility of the Sahara Desert.

If you prefer not to ride a camel, there’s usually another way to reach the desert camp. You can choose to go by 4×4 vehicle instead. It’s quicker and more comfortable, especially if you find camel riding difficult or not right for you.

Luxury camps are the best in offering premium comfort with spacious tents. Private bathrooms, different kinds of bed sizes ( king beds, double beds, twin beds, or single beds), and offering enhanced amenities like electricity, and Wi-Fi(though it may be limited due to the remote location).
