Itinerary Program :

Our journey starts in the lively city of Marrakech. After you arrive and check into your hotel or riad, take some time to relax from your travels. Later, you can head out to explore the famous Jemaa el-Fnaa square, filled with storytellers, musicians, food stalls, and bustling local life. Enjoy the colorful souks where you can shop for spices, handmade crafts, and beautiful carpets. In the evening, you can treat yourself to dinner at a rooftop restaurant with wonderful views of the old city.

After breakfast, we’ll leave Marrakech and travel through the stunning High Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi n’Tichka pass with amazing views along the way. Stop to visit the famous Ait Benhaddou, a beautiful old village and UNESCO World Heritage site often seen in movies. Continue through Ouarzazate, known as Morocco’s Hollywood, then drive along the scenic Road of a Thousand Kasbahs. By evening, you’ll reach the peaceful Dades Valley, where you’ll settle into your hotel and enjoy our traditional dinner.

We will start the day with a lovely, tasty breakfast overlooking the valley before we head to the dramatic Todra Gorge, where we will take a short walk through this breathtaking canyon, perfect for photos.
Next, you’ll drive towards Merzouga, watching the scenery change as you approach the edge of the Sahara. Once you arrive, swap your vehicle for a camel and ride into the golden dunes, enjoying the quiet magic of the desert at sunset. Then finish our adventure of the day at the camp under a sky full of stars, with local music around the campfire.

Wake up early to catch the sunrise over the dunes, a sight you’ll never forget. After breakfast, get ready for the day’s adventure. We will spend the day discovering the area around Merzouga by visiting nearby villages to learn about Berber life and enjoy a cup of tea with local families. We’re going to visit Khamlia and hear the traditional Gnawa music. In the afternoon, relax or take a fun optional ATV ride through the dunes. Then come back to the camp to enjoy another peaceful evening in the desert.

After enjoying our traditional breakfast, say goodbye to the Sahara and begin our drive to Fes. We will travel through the beautiful Ziz Valley, famous for its lush palm groves and old kasbahs. Stop along the way to stretch your legs and take photos. We’ll also pass through the cedar forests near Azrou, where we might spot playful monkeys. Frequently Asked Questions: Marrakech 6 Days Desert Tour via Merzouga

The tour uses comfortable and air-conditioned vehicles, and perfect for small or private groups.
We usually use modern 4×4 SUVs or minivans, depending on the group size and the terrain. For off-road parts of the trip, like in the desert, we use strong 4×4 vehicles to make sure everyone stays safe and comfortable.

You can choose to take this tour as a private or shared experience, depending on your preference.
A private tour gives you a more personal experience with flexible timing and a customized plan. A shared tour means you’ll travel with a small group of travellers, which is a great way to meet others and keep costs lower. Just make sure to let the tour operator know your preference when you make your booking.

  • Group tours are cheaper but less flexible.
  • Private tours offer more comfort and stop at your own pace.

The distance between Merzouga and Fes is about 462 kilometers, and the drive usually takes 7 to 8 hours. A journey full of interesting stops and great photo opportunities, and you’ll enjoy beautiful views of changing landscapes, from desert golden dunes to green valleys, mountains, and forests.

The camel ride in the afternoon for sunset is about 1 hour to 1,5 hours, and about 1 hour in the Morning for sunrise. Depending on the route and the pace of the camels. This ride offers you plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful desert views and a perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the tranquility of the Sahara desert.

If you prefer not to ride a camel, there’s usually another way to reach the desert camp. You can choose to go by 4×4 vehicle instead. It’s quicker and more comfortable, especially if you find camel riding difficult or not right for you.

Whether you take a standard or a luxury desert camp, private tents are guaranteed.

  • Standard desert camp:

The standard camp is perfect for travelers seeking an authentic, back-to-basics desert adventure. It offers a rustic, budget-friendly experience.

Luxury camps are the best in offering premium comfort with spacious tents. Private bathrooms, different kinds of bed sizes ( king beds, double beds, twin beds, or single beds), and offering enhanced amenities like electricity, and Wi-Fi(though it may be limited due to the remote location).
